Torre Sant'Andrea, the marvelous coast of the stacks in Salento

Torre Sant'Andrea is one of the most beautiful areas of Salento, a small and ancient fishing village located in the municipality of Melendugno, a few miles from Lecce and in the immediate vicinity of Otranto. It is located on a stretch of coast of unimaginable beauty, where gigantic masses of limestone rock emerge from the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic, creating one of the most spectacular images in Puglia. The Faraglioni, sculpted by the force of the elements and by the skilful hand of mother nature, represent the natural and uncontaminated symbol of all this enchanting and wild location. It is a unique place and a must for anyone who decides to spend a holiday in this splendid corner of Italy.

The Faraglioni of Sant'Andrea appear as large columns made up of rocky cliffs that take on impressive and suggestive shapes. We can admire the famous "Arch of Lovers", a true work of art created by the force of nature, which has always been surrounded by ancient and romantic legends. It is said that swimming through the arch together with one's other half makes the bond of love indissoluble forever. The entire coast, dominated by a characteristic lighthouse, as well as a small port and a thick pine forest that leads to the Alimini Lakes, hides wonderful sea caves, an infinity of coves and tiny sandy beaches that form with the tides.

The main beach of Torre Sant'Andrea is very small and consequently always very crowded, however it is well equipped and equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. The stacks, which until recently were accessed through the side of a cliff that has now collapsed and therefore closed by the authorities, are now easily accessible by swimming or by hiring small boats from nearby ports. Naturally, along the entire perimeter that runs along the cliffs there are many paths that lead directly to the sea or to the rock platforms from which to dive.
