The Pathé Tuschinski, originally known as the Tuschinski Theater, is today considered one of the most beautiful cinema halls in the world. A true architectural jewel in Art Deco style built in 1921 by Abraham Icek Tuschinski, a Jewish entrepreneur of Polish origin based on a project by the architect Heyman Louis de Jong. The cinema is now one of Amsterdam's most beloved landmarks, centrally located on the famous Rembrandtplein, next to the famous Bloemenmarkt floating flower market.



What was once a sumptuous variety theater, capable of showing cutting-edge cinema films, still maintains its original 1920s look and feel. Around 1998-2002 it was completely renovated preserving every architectural and decorative element of the time, a new modern wing was added and the older rooms were improved. Today, Pathé Tuschinsk has six halls and space for over 1,431 spectators.



The Pathé Tuschinski has seen some of the greatest artists of Hollywood cinema perform such as Marlene Dietrich and Judy Garland. It was also among the first in Europe to equip itself with electric lighting. This huge and magnificent building still remains one of the most elegant historic living rooms in the cities, a place from another time, but equipped with all the latest and most sophisticated audiovisual systems. It is a true cinema palace to fully enjoy latest films while comfortably seated on sofas and armchairs of fine fabrics, surrounded by marvelous boiserie, authentic frescoes and shining brass.
