Thanks to the height of the trees and the length of the lanes, the Longleat Hedge Maze becomes a very complicated labyrinth to get out of! Finding the exit is very difficult and takes an average of an hour and half. Six bridges have been built throughout to help the daring maze-goers find a bit of orientation throughout, though it is also advised to carry a smartphone with GPS connection in case of an emergency. The destination that everyone is seeking when in the maze is an observation tower all the way at the end.

This intertwining maze of deceiving alleys offers visitors and irresistible charm, paving a path of green hedges which are scrupulously kept in excellent form thanks to the work of a constant team of gardeners. The team is composed of six trained gardeners who prune the hedges every six months. Each pruning takes thirty days of work!
The garden is also home to a bio-park with over 500 exotic animals, where you can even request a guided tour.

The Longleat Labyrinth was considered the longest in the world, until Italy’s Labyrinth of Mason was built in 2015 by Franco Maria Ricci. This maze is located in Fontanellato, in the province of Parma. It is a labyrinth made of bamboo plants with an area of about nineteen acres and a path of over two miles.
