Las Coloradas,Mexico
The beautiful Las Coloradas Pink Lagoon is located in the small fishing village of Las Coloradas, on the east coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, within the nature reserve of Ria Lagartos Biosphere Réservée.
The lagoon will give you a sense of being in a fairytale or something extraordinary, with its rosy reflections and red plankton thanks to the high amount of brine shrimp, a small species of saltwater crustacean.
The white, salt beaches only add to the contrast in colors which tower from the water like great mountains of light, making the whole landscape even more surreal.
Las Coloradas is a city which is famous for its extraction of sea salt, where you can stumble upon many desolate stretches of fine white sand, hills and completely untouched coastline.
This is surely a unique piece of land which will give you the feeling of being lost in a parallel world of nature.
