Anse Source d'Argent, the wonderful beach of the Seychelles

Anse Source d'Argent is a beautiful and famous beach of the Seychelles, an enchanting expanse of white sand interspersed with imposing granite boulders, smoothed by the action of the waves and wind over time. Located within the Union Estate Park, on the southwest coast of the beautiful island of La Digue, Anse Source d'Argent is certainly one of the most scenic and photographed beaches in the world.

The primordial beauty of this beach, bathed by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, make it one of the main attractions of the entire archipelago. Its small coves of white sand and spectacular rock formations date back to over 750 million years, making this a tropical paradise so much so that it has been chosen as a location to shoot commercials and famous films such as "Cast Away". The beach is protected by a spectacular coral reef and is lapped by calm and shallow waters that allow you to bathe in total safety. But like all the beaches of the Seychelles, Anse Source d'Argent is also influenced by the tides and if you want to swim or snorkel, you have to wait for high tide.

To get to the beach, where there is also a single small kiosk, you take a path that crosses the old coconut palm plantation of the L'Union Estate park and the entrance costs 115 rupees per person per day (about 10 dollars). In this corner of paradise it is summer all year round, the temperature can vary according to the seasons, but it never drops below 75 degrees. Even the sea is always warm and its depths are populated by a huge variety of colorful fish, corals, manta rays and sea turtles.
