Dragon-Hole-Cina-1

The Dragon Hole is a huge blue hole, immersed in the south of the China Sea in the Paracel Islands just between Vietnam and the Philippines. Renamed Sansha Yongle Dragon Hole, this sinkhole measures about 130 meters wide and a depth that can hold the entire Eiffel Tower.

This 300-meter-long ocean sweep was discovered by a group of Chinese scientists at the Sansha Ship Corps Protection Corps, and after a year of exploration and research was established to be the deepest sinkhole in the world, surpassing the Dean Blue Hole in the Bermuda Triangle by over 90 meters.

Dragon-Hole-Cina-3

The research team, using a Pro4 dive robot, explored its depths and discovered an extraordinary ecosystem. A marine world with over 20 species of fish and other forms of living creatures were found that will be studied for the next five years.
